General Description:

Participants will learn how to manage the process of submitting a successful Offer in Compromise.

Learning Objectives:

After completing this course the participant will be able to:

  • Determine the appropriate forms to use for submitting an Offer in Compromise.
  • Prepare an offer in compromise that the IRS will process.
  • Calculate the amount of equity available to the IRS in a taxpayer's assets.
  • Apply IRS collection financial standards and calculate a taxpayer's monthly income and expenses.
  • Appeal IRS rejections of offers in compromise.

Instructors:

Amanda Boog Cruser is an attorney with the law firm of Anderson & Jahde, P.C. She represents clients in disputes with the IRS and state taxing authorities as well as handling issues with offshore bank accounts and international business corporations and land use and zoning disputes. She earned a B.S. in Business Administration from Trinity University and J.D. at the University of Denver. She is admitted to the Colorado Bar, U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. District Court in Colorado, and the U.S. Tax Court.
